About
About Calamus & Honey
Calamus & Honey began over ten years ago with a simple idea: to create a Four Thieves Vinegar that was truly authentic. Jonathan, frustrated with the lack of good options available, dove into research and began crafting his own blend. The result was so well-received that a local witch shop began to carry it. What started as one product soon grew into a range of carefully researched and intentionally crafted magical goods, each created with the same integrity and attention to detail.

In late summer of 2023, we opened our brick-and-mortar, allowing us to connect with the community in a deeper way. Now, in addition to our signature products like conjure oils, fixed candles, washes, powders, incense, and soaps, you can find a wide variety of magical tools, curios, and herbs—over 80 different varieties to be exact. We curate a carefully selected collection of books, zines, and products from other respected makers in the magical community. We have readers from diverse magical backgrounds and hold classes on a wide array of magical topics.

Jonathan – The original founder of Calamus & Honey, Jonathan’s contributions are the foundation of everything we do. With a background in a variety of folk magics, particularly Southern rootwork, Jonathan’s knowledge of spiritual traditions is woven into each product. As a diviner and a Santero/olorisha, crowned Oshun in the Rama of Efunshe, Jonathan’s deep connection to the spirit world and commitment to preserving authentic, time-tested practices has shaped the heart and soul of the shop. His expertise in crafting spiritual oils, candles, baths and other products are integral to our product development, ensuring that each item carries not only magic but historical significance and integrity.
As Calamus & Honey expanded, Baylen joined the journey, bringing her creative vision and deep passion for magic to compliment Jonathan's foundational work.

Baylen – As co-owner of Calamus & Honey, Baylen brings a blend of creativity and spiritual practice to everything she does. Baylen is responsible for the overall aesthetic of the shop and the designs of every label you see on our products. With roots in traditional witchcraft, occultism, folk magic, and ceremonial magic, her practice is focused on connection—both to the self and to the unseen forces that guide us. Whether in her design work, or curating magical offerings, Baylen strives to create space for others to engage with their spiritual paths in a meaningful and authentic way, opening pathways to the mysteries that reside within us all.
